The BAFTAs

Standard

I watched the awards ceremony last night on TV.  Apart from loving the forced grins in glorious close-ups of the nominees who were pipped at the post , what really hit home for me was the collaborative nature of making a film.  Yes, I admit that the long, long telephone directories of emotional thank yous in the acceptance speeches can get a little tedious .  However, when there is a passion for their subject, directors, writers, producers, actors and technicians seem to meld into an unstoppable force to make the project happen.  Someone has a vision, and each individual adds their particular brand of magic into the mix until the vision becomes a reality.

I think that organisations have a lot to learn from this level of passion and commitment.  Teams of talented individuals pulling together towards a heartfelt common purpose can achieve extraordinary things.
